Discount retailer B&M is delighted to announce the opening of its brand-new store at Pool Road, Newtown, Powys, bringing fantastic value, big brands and exciting ranges to even more customers in the local area. The new store has also created 45 jobs for the local area.
The discount retailer has taken possession of former Poundstretcher, which provides a space of 22,042 sq ft. The site will undergo a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors at 9am on Saturday, 7th November 2026.
The new store has been designed to offer customers a bright, modern and enjoyable shopping experience, with clear product displays and an easy-to-navigate layout.
The store will also feature self-checkout tills, giving customers greater flexibility and convenience when completing their shop.
The new store will also feature a brand-new frozen food department, bringing even more choice to B&M’s extensive grocery range.
Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price, including a range of food, drink and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.
Outside, a 6,603 sq ft garden centre will offer everything customers need to make the most of their outdoor spaces, from gardening essentials to outdoor living and seasonal products.
A Store Manager from B&M said:
